Almond Bars
Basic Trail food
  • 3 cups oatmeal or wheat
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 package flavored gelatin
  • 2 1/2 cups powdered Milk
  • 1 cup white or brown sugar
  1. Mix all dry ingredients except gelatin.
  2. Add 3 tablespoons water to honey and bring to boil.
  3. Dissolve gelatin in honey mixture.
  4. Add mixture to dry ingredients in large bowl.
  5. After mixing, add water, a teaspoon at a time until the mixture is moist enough to mold.
  6. Pack in refrigerator dish.

    (For taste variations: add dried apricots, raisins, dates, or peanut butter. May be molder and shaped onto aluminum foil. May be frozen.)
