SOUTHWEST BAKED BEANS
  • 1/2 pound bacon
  • 3 large onions
  1. Cut the bacon in about 1-inch pieces and fry in skillet until crispy
  2. set aside.
  3. Slice the onions and sauté the onions in the bacon drippings.

  4. To that ADD:
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup cider vinegar
  1. Cook covered for about 20 minutes
  2. Then you can either pour all of this in a crock-pot with:
  • 2 cans lima beans, drained
  • 1 can dark red kidney beans, drained
  • 1 large can B&M brand baked beans
    Cook for several hours on low and then add in the crispy bacon and serve.

    OR

    Put all ingredients in a Dutch oven and bake 1 hour at 350 Degrees F.
