NOTE: Prepare Top Layer first, and cool to room temperature.
Bottom Layer:
1 lb. Oreo cookies, crushed
1/2 cup melted butter
Press evenly into a 9" x 13" pan
3/4 cup roasted peanuts
Sprinkle evenly over and press into cookie mixture.
Middle Layer:
1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream, softened.
Spread evenly over bottom layer.
Top Layer:
2 cups powdered sugar
1 1/2 cups evaporated milk (one 12-oz. can)
1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup margarine or butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
Mix together in sauce pan and bring to boil.
Boil 8 minutes.
Stir constantly during all cooking.
After Top Layer is cooled to room temperature, spread it evenly over Middle Layer of ice cream.
Freeze at least 3 hours, or overnight.
