4 very small onions peeled or 2 large onions cut in large chunks
Grease potatoes and onions with shortening, oil, or olive oil
Place in greased casserole dish
Make sure onions are placed around in potatoes evenly.
Place small pieces of butter or margarine on top of potatoes and onions
sprinkle with salt and pepper
bake at 400 degrees for about one hour
About one-half hour into cooking, turn potatoes and onions over,
sprinkle with salt and pepper
continue to bake until finished
If potatoes are not brown and crispy enough, turn on broiler to finish
do not use cover
These potatoes and onions are delicious with anything but are especially good with steaks.
