Prepare potatoes; cut potatoes into lengthwise strips
1/4-inch to 3/8-inch wide.
Fill deep fat fryer or deep saucepan 1/2 full with salad oil or shortening.
Heat to 375 degrees.
Fill
basket 1/4 full of potatoes.
Lower into hot fat. If fat
bubbles excessively, raise and lower the basket several times.
Use long handled fork to keep potatoes separated.
Fry 5 to 7
minutes or until potatoes are golden.
Drain
Salt to
taste.
