Carmel Brownies

  • 2/3 cups evaporated Milk, add 1/3 cup at a time
  • 6 ozs. chocolate chips(I have used half chocolate chips and half peanut butter chips, was really good)
  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix
  • 1 1/2 sticks butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 package caramels, melted
  1. pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Grease and flour 9x13 pan
  3. melt caramels in 1/3 cup evaporated milk(do this first and set aside)
  4. combine cake mix, melted butter, nuts and rest of evaporated milk
  5. When mixed, put in pan and pat down like a crust (use less than half of the mix)
  6. Bake this bottom layer for 6 minutes
  7. Sprinkle chocolate chips over bottom layer
  8. pour caramels over chocolate chips
  9. Spoon rest of batter over caramels. (using palm of hand)
  10. bake entire mixture another 15-18 minutes
  11. Let cool
  12. ice with favorite chocolate icing
  13. cut into small squares
