Sweet Potatoes
From:Betty Jo Melton Coldiron
  • 8 lb. lard bucket of sugar
  • 4 lb. lard bucket of water
  • Boil syrup until thick and it strings
  1. Drop potatoes into syrup;
  2. Cook until you can stick a fork in them
  3. take out of syrup and place in jar
  4. pour syrup over potatoes and seal
