Cool Angel Cake
  • 1 angel-food cake mix or one prepared angel-food cake
  • 1 8-ounce package soft cream cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 8-ounce carton frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 2 21-ounce cans of pie filling: either blueberry, cherry, or strawberry
  1. If you are making your own angel-food cake, mix and bake according to the package directions and let it cool.
  2. Cut the cake into 1-inch cubes and set aside.
  3. Mix together the cream cheese and powdered sugar with an electric mixer.
  4. Use a large spoon to gently mix in the shipped topping and cake cubes.
  5. Spread into a 9 x 13 pan.
  6. Pour the pie filling on top.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for two hours or until set.
  8. Cut into squares before serving.
