Hot Kentucky Dip
From: Crey Law
  • 8 oz. Philadelphia Cream Cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 c sour cream
  • 2 T milk
  • 2 T
  • dried minced onion flakes
  • 1 large clove pressed garlic
  • 1/2 tsp. dried parsley flakes
  • 1 small jar Armour dried beef
  1. Put all ingredients except beef into a food processor with a steel blade.
  2. Process on pulse till all are combined well.
  3. Add dried beef, and process till beef is shredded.
  4. Pour into a buttered 9" pie plate and top with 1/2 cup chopped pecans.
  5. Drizzle with 2 T melted butter.
  6. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.
  7. Serve warm on Triscuits.

COMMENTS: Even though I now live in Murphysboro, IL, the three years I spent in Lexington, KY are quite memorable. The above appetizer was served frequently at parties and picnics, and has become a favorite in Southern Illinois.
