Vinegar Dumplings
( My sister's late husband loved these, he is the only person I have ever met that ate them)
Syrup
- 1/2 cup vinegar
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 stick margarine
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 cup water
- Mix all the above together and bring to a boil
- Drop dumplings into mixture and boil about 15 minutes
or until syrup is thick
Dumplings
1 cup flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 Tablespoons margarine
6 Tablespoons milk- Mix all together, like you would
for biscuits
- Roll out into small rounds 1/2 inch thick and drop in vinegar syrup.
