dillycore

Roladen
From:Bobbie Binns
  • Thinly sliced top round [your butcher willknow how to cut these] I usually allow 1 to 1 1/2 per person
  • chopped onion
  • diced bacon [Uncooked]
  • Poupon mustard Prepared mustard won't work
  • Salt and pepper
  1. Heat heavy skillet with 1/4 stick margarine while you are rolling these up.
  2. sprinkle each slice of meat with salt and pepper
  3. spread generous amount Poupon mustard
  4. Sprinkle on chopped onion and diced bacon
  5. Roll up from short end and fasten with tooth picks
  6. Brown on all sides in skillet
  7. add enough water to come about halfway up on rolls, put on lid, and cook on low till tender.
  8. Once they are tender take rolls out and thicken gravy with cornstarch then return rolls to gravy and keep warm.

This is really very easy and ALWAYS turns out. Would be excellent served with red cabbage and potato dumplings or mashed potatoes.
