Chicken and Dumplings

  • 1 chicken cut up
  • 2 onions diced
  • 2 carrots diced
  • 4 med potatoes diced
  • 2 cups diced celery
  • about 1 cup rice
  • 1 tbs garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup parsley
  • 4 wylers boulin cubes
  1. Place all the above ingredients except rice in large cooking pot.
  2. Let cook until chicken falls off bone.
  3. Remove bones and chicken from pot.
  4. Cut up chicken into square pieces and place back into pot.
  5. cook a while longer, about 20 min more.
While ingredients are cooking prepare dumplings

  1. take about 2 cups flour a little garlic powder and some broth from the pot and put into flour mixture along with 2 eggs.
  2. mix well until mixture is thick but not doughy. (thin enough to spoon into the pot)
  3. drop by spoonful into hot chicken mixture in pot.
  4. add rice at this time
  5. salt and pepper
  6. keep dropping in dumplings until the dough is gone.
  7. Let simmer on very low heat until dumplings and rice are done
  8. stir constantly so the chicken and dumplings dont stick or burn.
