Pour about 1/4 cup buttermilk over okra and wet it good.
Pour off remaining milk.
Put about 1/2 cup flour on wet okra and coat it good.
It will be sticky and look nasty.
Put about 1/3 cup meal on floured okra.
Roll until meal sticks to okra.
Drop okra in hot oil and fry.
Don't crowd okra - it will come out in small pieces.
