Canned Apple Pie Filling
From: Stacey Watson
  • 4-1/2 Cups Sugar
  • 1 Cup Cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons Cinnamon

Mix these in a large pot and add :

  • 10 Cups Water
    1. Boil until thick and bubbly
    2. Remove from heat and add 2 tablespoons lemon juice
    3. Fill jars with apples, leaving 1" at the top.
    4. Cover with juice (can do 1/2 jar at a time if easier).
    5. Process in hot water bath about 20 minutes.
    6. Makes appox. 7 quarts with this recipe.
    Note: It will take about 5 or 6 lbs. of apples to fill 7 jars, depending on how tight you feel the jars with apples.
