Roast Beef with Bourbon Sauce
  • 5-pound beef rib roast
  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons molasses
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  1. In a large bowl, or glass dish combine the bourbon, ginger, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, molasses, orange juice, garlic, and onion; mix well, and add the beef.
  2. Chill this for 4-5 hours, turning the beef quite often.
  3. Remove the beef to a rack placed in a large foil lined roaster.
  4. keep the marinade for the bourbon sauce.
  5. Bake the meat 2 1/2 hours for medium rare or to your desired doneness.
  6. Take 1/2 cup of the beef drippings, and place in a medium saucepan, blend in the flour.
  7. Over a low heat add the remaining bourbon mixture, and water, stir constantly until thickened.
  8. Serve the sauce over the sliced roast beef.
