Bourbon Recipes



Country Ham
  • 1 cup cider vinegar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup bourbon
  • cloves
  1. Soak the ham for 48 hours in a large bucket of water.
  2. Change the water regularly, and scrub the ham well after each water change.
  3. On the second day add the cider vinegar, and brown sugar to the water.
  4. Line a large roaster with foil, and place the ham fat side down.
  5. Pour one cup of bourbon over the ham, and seal the foil tightly around the ham.
  6. Place the cover on the roaster and bake at 350 degrees F., 18 minutes per pound.
  7. When the ham is done, turn it over and remove the skin, but a diamond pattern in the top of the ham.
  8. Insert who cloves into the points of the diamonds then sprinkle heavily with brown sugar.
  9. Place the ham back into a 300 degree F. oven and bake until the sugar melts, slightly.
  10. Do not cut this am until it is completely cooled.
  11. Cut very thin
