While pizza dough is rising, chop a small onion and
green pepper in medium-sized pieces and saute in olive oil or
cooking oil until they begin to color at the edges.
Set aside
and cool.
Mix Pizza Sauce recipe and set aside.
Roll
out pizza dough and let rise as directed.
Shred cheeses and
blend together.
When rolled out pizza dough is ready, add sauce and
spread evenly.
Pinch off small bits of Italian Sausage.
Distribute sauteed onions and green peppers over pizza.
Sprinkle shredded cheeses over entire pizza
using about 7 oz. of cheese.
Place on bottom rack in cold
oven.
Turn oven on to 500 degrees. Bake 17 to 20 minutes.
Note: Your may add any of your favorite pizza ingredi-
ents, such as sliced ripe olives, mushrooms, pepperoni, etc.
Pizza Sauce
1 can tomato puree
(approximately 10 3/4 oz.)
1/4 tsp. oregano
1/4 tsp. basil
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/8 tsp. granulated garlic or
powder
1/8 tsp. granulated onion or
powder
2 tsp. grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp. salt
Pour tomato puree into a mixing bowl and add remaining
ingredients.
Blend well.
Will make two 12-inch pizzas.
Italian Sausage
1 lb. lean ground pork
1 1/2 tsp. salt
3 1/2 tsp. paprika
2/3 tsp. granulated garlic or
powder
1/3 tsp. fennel seed
1 tsp. black pepper
1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper
(optional)
Add all ingredients to pork and mix well
Let set several hours before using for improved flavor.
