Roast Turkey

Remove giblets and rinse turkey thoroughly with cold water
- Pat dry
- sprinkle cavity with salt
- Tie ends of legs to tail with string
- Lift wing tips up over back so they are tucked under turkey
- Brush turkey with melted oleo
- place on a roasting rack, breast side up
- Insert meat thermometer in breast, making sure it does not touch bone
- Bake at 325 degrees until thermometer reaches 185 degrees, about 4 1/2 hours
- If turkey starts to get too brown, cover lightly with aluminum foil.
- When turkey is 2/3 done, cut the sting holding the legs to the tail.
This will let inside of the thigh cook.
- Turkey is done when drumsticks are easy to move up and down
