Flang a bunch of black-eyed peas together with some onions, a touch
of garlic, a hambone, and (here's where my Texan ancestors come in) a couple
of dried red chiles......
Do a load of cornbread in a cast iron skillet in the oven (Mexican
cornbread, ie with peppers and whole corn is acceptable; sugar is *not*),
and pile those peas on the cornbread.
That's the Southern side of the family.....from spouse's side we get
breakfast:
take the last of the homemade Polish sausage from Christmas,
should you manage to have hid some, chop into tiny bits, and scramble with
eggs.
