All clowns are sitting around on stage as if engaging in a serious discussion.
Clown 1: You know we've been studying about the heart in health class and I think it is amazing how the heart works to keep the blood pumping through our bodies.
Clown 2: Yeah! Pretty Amazing, isn't it! You know the Bible talks a lot about our hearts, but it's function seems different.
Clown 3: What do you mean?
Clown 2: John 7:38 says he who believe in Me out of his heart will flow rivers of living water---not blood.
Clown 4: Samuel 16:7 says that man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart. That sounds as if the heart has something in it other than vessels,-----------Huh?
Clown 3: In John 14:1 Jesus also tells us not to let our hearts be troubled. Do you suppose our heart has feelings like love, fear, and hatred?
Clown 1: I don't really know but I do know that in church we learn that we should repent of our sins and should give our hearts to Jesus.
Clown 5: (Has been sitting listening with a very puzzled look on her face) Wait a minute---Wait just one cotton pickin' minute. Did you say give my heart to Jesus? Now I can't do that. If I gave my heart to Jesus, I would die. You can't take your heart out and give it to someone else. Now let's forget that-I don't want to die.
Clown 4: Good grief __________________. (Insert clown 5's name)
You know it doesn't mean to yank your heart out and hand it over. (Demonstrates) It simply means that Jesus wants us to surrender our lives to Him and to love Him withal our heart. That means unconditional love.
Clown 5: Boy, I'm glad you cleared that up. I want to live my life for Jesus, but I want to have a life to live and I know without a heart I'm lifeless.
Clown 4: Just think of it this way---giving your heart to Jesus means you will gain eternal life and that means you will live forever.
Clown 5: (sighing with relief) Oh! That is wonderful! I'm going to ask Jesus right now to come into my heart and it will belong to him forever. Wouldn't you all like to do the same?
All clowns Kneel at the alter and pray.
