Clown #1 sits center stage sifting through a bag of lint.
Clown #2 and #3 rush in and
Clown #3 says, come on inset clown #1's name Let's go to the ballgame, the Cats and Vols are playing and we have seats three rows off the floor. Hurry! Hurry!
Clown #1 I can't I have to study, (sifting through lint)
Clown #2 Study? You're not in school-Why are you studying? Come on let's go. (start off stage)
Clown #1 The preacher says we're going to start studying lint this week (looking into bag) so I have to stay here and study this lint before Wednesday night.
Clown #3 Study Lint? You're not talking about the stuff in your belly button, are you?
Clown #1 He said if we study lint, we will find repentance. I've looked and looked and all I see is just fuzzy stuff.
Clown #2 Oh! He isn't talking about that L-I-N-T--- he's talking about the Lenten season. The time when Christians examine their lives and repent of wrong doings. That's what finding repentance means.
Clown #3 Yes, I know about this. The Lenten season is 40 days before Easter. We begin the celebration on Ash Wednesday. Some people fast and wear ashes on their foreheads. They also give up something they really like. This is a time to examine our life, confess our sins, repent and return to the Christ way.
Clown #1 (Sneezes) You mean I don't have to study the lint in my dryer to find repentance?
Clown #2 No, You find repentance when you pray-So let's all commit to prayer, fasting and giving of ourselves during this season and the Lord will pour out His blessings on all us all.
Clown #2 and #3 Come on Let's Go
Clown #1 No, Now that I know what Lent really is, I think I will stay here and pray… you all go on without me!
Clown #2 Let's all forget the ballgame!
At this point we will all clowns go to the alter and kneel as in prayer.
